Information on video upgrades In order to keep up with how newer operating systems and browsers handle video files, we have upgraded all full size QuickTime files on ULTRA and ULTRA Plus for faster streaming in Firefox and Google Chrome. (1) We upgraded our server software to allow more reliable streaming of larger Windows Media clips using Internet Explorer. Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome web browsers. (2) We reformatted and re-uploaded more than 5,000 full-size QuickTime files published from January 2006 through November 2009 to allow faster start and streaming in Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browsers. (3) All new full-size QuickTime files (December 2009 forward) have been formatted for streaming and quicker viewing of these video clips using Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome web browsers. This will include all new QuickTime clis in 2010 and beyond. Please note that many of the QuickTime files uploaded before December of 2009 might not stream in the newer Internet Explorer browsers because of the way they handle QuickTime streaming files. We strongly recommend that Windows-based members of ULTRA and ULTRA Plus use Mozilla Firefox or, as an alternative choice, Google Chrome, for the best results in viewing our older QuickTime video files.
